Don’t miss out!

Mark your calendars for Sept. 27-29th!

Our annual Fall Retreat brings together Chi Alpha students from across North Carolina for a weekend of worship, fun, and spiritual formation. The all inclusive price is $105 (non-refundable) and if you register by September 20th, you’ll receive a free gift as part of your registration. Have questions? Check our FAQ below. You can schedule information as well as the address and necessary forms below. Registration is now closed but if you forgot (or waited too long) to register, talk to your campus pastor.

Fall Retreat FAQ

  1. What’s the sleeping situation?

You will be in a cabin with students from your school/university. Each person will have his or her own bunk bed.

2. What do I need to bring?

I’m so glad you asked! Please bring a pillow, sleeping bag or twin sheets, a towel, a swimsuit if you plan to do the water activities on Saturday, and a beach towel for water activities (if participating). Other things you can bring include games for free time, basketball or other sports equipment (there are courts and massive fields), snacks (if you’re not feelin’ the menu), your bible, and earplugs if you aren't used to roommates.

There are lots of outdoor activities at Camp Hanes - including a large, covered basketball court area. Bring comfy clothes that you feel comfortable being outside in.

3. I have to do homework this weekend. Will there be down time?

Yes. We will have free time Saturday afternoon and we’ll be leaving retreat before noon on Sunday. Closer to the retreat we’ll post the schedule.

4. What time does everything get started on Friday?

Dinner is on your own but registration starts at 6pm. We’ll have a bonfire at 9..

5. Why is it non-refundable?

Retreat cost is all inclusive…so we have to pay for your food, lodging, everything even if you drop out. We understand things happen so in those specific cases, we’ll help you to transfer your registration to someone else.

INFORMATION YOU NEED FOR RETREAT

If you are coming to 2024 Fall Retreat, we need you to do a couple of things for us:

  1. Make sure you complete this insurance waiver. Once completed, email it or give it to your campus pastor.

  2. If you are driving, please complete this driver form.

  3. Please note, the camp has separate forms that we’ll have you sign at check in. Nothing dramatic, just don’t want to catch you off guard. If you are curious about those forms, check with your campus pastor.

What should I expect in my fall retreat experience? We do fall retreat so that students have the opportunity to get away for a weekend and connect with God and with peers from across NC.

This year’s retreat is designed to include times of musical worship, brief teachings on what it means to encounter and engage God in day-to-day relationship, discussion groups, food, and fun (and some down time for our more introverted folks).

On Friday evening we’ll kick it all off with a bonfire and s’mores so be safe driving and look for the Chi Alpha signage when your arrive.

Getting there:

Fall retreat is at the YMCA Camp Hanes in King, North Carolina. The driving address is 1225 Camp Hanes Road King, NC 27021

Check in at the Reynolds Center (see the map). Registration opens at 6pm (make sure you eat dinner before you get to retreat).
